WHAT IS ARCHPRO?
ArchPro アークプロ (Japanese abbreviation commonly used to refer to the Archangel Project) is a Japanese cultural research and content production network comprising duo Mikeru and Marie who are blogging, illustration and design hobbyists with the eventual aim of turning it into professional, paid freelance on Mikeru’s side.
This website triples as a blog, portfolio site for our works and a product/service site. It is written and updated by Mikeru, the main point of contact, in first-person speech.
ArchPro’s main services are copywriting, promotion, social media engagement and web design. Our services and intended main client base are pro-bono/hobbyist projects and small for-profit startups and Intellectual Properties (IPs) who require short-to-medium term content production (ie. 2 weeks to 3 months) to trigger initial growth and outreach, although we are flexible and can customize our methods to fit other projects.
In addition, the founding members also create original content for this network itself, in the form of cultural research, illustration and photography done at a hobbyist level.
Take a look around, enjoy its creations and engage us. You may also follow our joint social media accounts on

FAQ
You use the names "ArchPro", "Archangel Project" and "Mikeru and Marie" interchangeably on different parts of the network. Which one should I use to refer to you?
All three are acceptable.
How do I pronounce Marie’s name?
There is understandably some confusion because Marie is both an English name as well as a Japanese name spelt in romaji (roman alphabet). Since her name is a Japanese native name, it is written in hiragana as まりえ, which in turn, is pronounced as ma-ri-ei in English.
Can I engage Marie for paid illustration work?
Short answer: No.
We have received requests to do paid illustration before, but had to turn them down as she is unable to commit her time consistently as a student. While we may have a relatively large pool of art to show you on our social media, these were produced at a reasonable pace factoring in her school commitments.
Nevertheless, we thank you for your confidence and affirmation that she can monetize her work at her skill level. We may do other types of paid work in the future when we are physically ready to.
(To Mikeru) Why would you not disclose your full writing portfolio online, if you are enthusiastic on getting opportunities?
Parts of my portfolio are personal projects or those tied to my former schools; excessive disclosure in a public domain might compromise my privacy. However, you can drop me an email request with your project and I will refurbish relevant experience from my portfolio if necessary.
What do you mean when you call yourselves a “cultural research network”?
We admittedly have little of this on our site at the moment, but eventually want to write in-depth material about social issues in Japan based on less well-known trends.
Have you considered getting a custom domain to look more professional?
We understand well that a custom domain is important for content producers to look professional, however, since most of our activities are currently pro bono, we do not have the means to upkeep a custom domain. We have plans to purchase one ASAP when our finances allow.
